Perspective and photography
Today I will offer you to do a very fun activity of photography to learn how can we change the meaning of things playing with perspective, shape and figure.
1. Perspective
What you'll need:
- A smart-phone with a camera
- Some friends to pose for you
- Objects or landscape
- A bit of imagination and creativity
Choose the emelemnts you want to play with to take a fun picture like in the examples below:
2. Shape and figure
What you'll need:
- A smart-phone with a camera
- Some friends to pose for you
- Objects and landscape
- A lot of imagination and creativity
This time instead of playing with perspective we will play with the meaning of the things and change it when puting it close to an other object. Even though perspective is not the main element this time, also plays an important roll. Check out how in the example here below. The author only used the clouds and some objects and see the new meaning he got by positioning a new element close to the cloud:
What you'll need (If making your own pictures):
- A smart-phone with a camera
- Some friends to pose for you
- Objects or landscape
- A lot of imagination and creativity
What you'll need (If choosing to make a collage):
- A magazine or an other source of picture such as books or internet
- Scissors and a ruller to cut
- Glue and paper
-A lot of imagination and creativity
Choose your pictures with two different meanings to create a new one. Select half of one picture and half of the other and now glue them!! Check the example here below:

Art apps and have fun!
Does your mother, father or anyone in between your friends or family that owns an electronic tablet? If so, ask that person if you can use it for a while and discover a variety of art apps to develop your artistic skills and have a lot lot of fun!
Here a list of some I have tried and I have loved:
MoMA Art Lab:
Have you ever heard about the Museum of Modern Art in New York? Well, it's one of the most amazing Museums in the world, overthere you can find paintings from all kinds of amazing artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall or Andy Warhol. In the museum they offer a lot of fun and interesting activities for kids -and Leopards, like me :)- But for those who find the Museum is a bit far from their houses they have created an app for the tablet with bunch of fun activities and easy tools to create fantastic artworks.
Go try it!
FriendStrip Kids Pro
Do you like comics? Do you like taking pictures with the phone and the tablet? Or what's more! Do you like taking Snapchat's pictures with the phone or the tablet? Then you will love this app.
Take amazing snaps with your friends with this cool app that alows you use stickers in order to become fantastic superheros!!!
I had a lot of fun taking some FriendStrip pictures with my friend Kit the cat!!
Art history for Kids
If you want to discover more about the artists I mention in the description of the first app in this post, you will find more interesting information about them in the app Art History for Kids. You will learn, in a very enjoyable way, about the most famous painters, styles and techniques. From the pre-historic art in the caverns to the street art.
I really enjoyed using this app and I learned a lot about amazing artists. :D

Ever thought about why some animals are looking funny?
Why do animals look differently?
The answer is: Animals adapt to their environment. But it is not only about their appearance. It can also be about certain capacities. If an animal for example can run really fast, they will certainly stay alive for a lot longer. If they stay alive longer there is a higher chance to have babies. Their babies will then also be able to run faster and live also longer. After some time, all of those animals will be able to run really fast.
Find out more playing the great adaption game!! Take a photo of an animal and than choose the right option how this animal has adapted to the environment (we recommend playing without background music ;)):

Easy and funny experiments
THE SOAP MOTORBOAT
BEFORE you start:
·
Get your parent’s or teacher’s permission...
·
...and follow the instructions 😏
This experiment is called the "SOAP
MOTORBOAT"!
Check the following video to see what it is all about:
So, how does this work? What do we need to repeat the experiment at home or in class? Do you remember?
We need:
- A tray or bowl full of water
- Aluminium foil
- Liquid soap
- A toothpick
The experiment:
- Fashion a boat out of the aluminium foil
- Put your boat into the bowl full of water
- Add some liquid soap and the end of your boat with
the help of the the toothpick
- Observe what's happening!!
How does it work?
Soap is a surfactant and breaks down the surface
tension of water. As the surface tension is broken up, it creates enough
of a force to push the lightweight boat across the surface. Once the the
water’s surface tension will be in equilibrium, there no more force provided
and the boat may also sink depending on the model ;)
Make it your way:
- Does it also work with larger "boats"? Try
to make a 10cm large boat and see what will happen
- Can you make a "boat" which travel in
clockwise direction?
- Is it possible to use other materials than aluminium
foil?
